Six Reasons Why We’re Excited for Mary’s

Mary’s are a Sydney institution. They have been slinging burgers into mouths since 2014 and have quickly become a cult classic.

They’re no frills, Slayer worshiping legends operating out of Newtown and the Sydney CBD, feeding the masses some of the juiciest sought after burgers in Australia. The burgers might not be much to look at, but trust us when we say they’re a taste explosion.

We are ridiculously excited to have Mary’s pop up restaurant at The Commons, fulfilling all your burger needs. They’ll be serving up their classic burgers and sides, and pouring beers from Pact Beer Co.

To help curb the wait between now and The Commons we’ve collated a love letter list of the top 6 reasons why we’re stoked to have Mary’s coming to Canberra

1. They keep it simple, fresh and delicious.

Mary’s use bang-on patties (a mixture of chuck, brisket and rump steak), straight-up lettuce, tomato, cheese and onion, and sauce that is the work of a delicious devil.

2. Mary’s potato and gravy MAKES YOU weak at the knees

Hot tip: take your fries skinny dipping into the lake of mash and gravy, you won’t be sorry.

3. The Mary’s ‘Shroom Burger is one of the best vegetarian burgers in the universe

A fat juicy field mushroom replaces a meat patty and takes you straight to flavour town. No lentils in sight on this bad boy.

Hot tip: If you’re not big on beef but like a little bacon, grab a ‘shroom burger and throw on some signature trash can bacon. Or if you really love a good mushroom, you can double down like the below pic.

4. Mary’s serve up around 10,000 burgers in a week between theIR two venues.

That’s nearly 1,500 burgers being made EVERY DAY. That’s a lot of burger.

5. Mary’s unabashedly admit they’re there to get you fat

And you can wear it with pride with these rad shirt designs from Sindy Sinn.

Prepare yourself for a journey through Mary’s at The Commons, a burger experience you simply can’t afford to miss.
